About Papekeys

Papekeys is a South African producer, composer and DJ blending soulful Amapiano and Deep House with cinematic soundscapes. His music brings emotional depth to modern rhythm, rooted in African spirituality and soulful expression.

Born and raised in Limpopo, Lesego Bopape — Papekeys — discovered music early, learning piano and guitar before the age of 14. Influenced by Chymamusique, Da Capo and Enosoul, he developed a sonic identity grounded in African spirituality and soulful rhythm.

In 2014, he co-founded SoulGazm, a duo exploring Deep House and Broken Beat. He launched his solo career in 2017 with Morning Blues, continuing to fuse sounds that resonate emotionally and spiritually.

After graduating in Digital Music Composition & Production from Boston Media House (Soul Candi Institute of Music), he returned as a lecturer, mentoring emerging producers in mixing, mastering, production, engineering and music business.

Under PapeKeys Music Group, he continues to produce and collaborate with leading voices in the South African music scene.
